I wish there were more books and archives that showed the full breadth of a photographer’s work. I have recently started borrowing biographical photography books from my local public library. Although they don’t contain the whole story, it’s still great to learn about the journeys. The most recent one I enjoyed was, The Photographs of Dorothea Lange by Keith F. Davis. It was interesting to see how her photos and perspectives transformed when she went from using large format to using 35mm. I also enjoyed Sally Mann’s memoir, Hold Still, although I wish the print quality had been better. The photos were too small and dark. I just bought, The Lives of Lee Miller by Antony Penrose, but haven’t started yet.
This was a good listen as always! Humanize your idols, such good advice. I agree with you and Alicia below that it really would be nice to see more images of a photographer's work. We all make those mistakes and its so helpful to see the evolution of the process for our own growth. Cheers, Eric. Hope all is well!

It would be great, right? There's quite a bit out there, fortunately. But never enough!
Lange is great for this, especially thanks to the FSA archives.
I also can't recommend Imogen Cunningham: A Retrospective. She has such a variety of phases and styles.
"KILL THE BUDDHA!!!"
